A Rich Merchant & His Four Wives

Once upon a time. There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her & gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He’s very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in fear that she might run away with some other men.

He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient & in fact is the merchant’s confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times.

Now, the merchant’s 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the 1st wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, “Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I’ll be alone.

Howlonely I’ll be!” Thus, he asked the 4th wife, “I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and keep me company?” “No way!” replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word. Answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant’s heart.

The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, “I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and keep me company.” “No!” replied the 3rd wife. “Life is so good over here! I’m going to remarry when you die!” The merchant’s heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, “I always turned to you for help and you’ve always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?” “I’m sorry, I can’t help you out this time!” replied the 2nd wife.” “At the very most, I can only send you to your grave.” Answer came like a bolt of thunder & merchant was devastated.

Then a voice called out: “I’ll leave with you. I’ll follow you no matter where you go.” The merchant looked up and there was his 1st wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, “I should have taken much better care of you while I could have!”

Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives. The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it’ll leave us when we die. Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others. The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we’re alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave. The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material wealth & sensual pleasure.

Moral:

Guess what? It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go. Perhaps it’s a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to wait until we’re on our death bed to lament.

No matter what good or bad you have, wake up each day thankful for your life by saying Alhamdulilah. Someone somewhere else is fighting to survive.

Ustadz dan Santrinya..

Seorang Ustadz berkumpul dengan santrinya, kemudian beliau mengajukan 6 pertanyaan :

pertanyaan 1: APA YANG PALING DEKAT dengan diri kita di dunia ini?
Santri ada yang menjawab: “Orang tua, sahabat, teman, kerabatnya.”

Jawab Ustadz : Yang paling dekat dengan kita adalah “Kematian”. Sebab kematian adalah PASTI adanya dan setiap detik bisa terjadi.

Pertanyaan 2: APA YANG PALING JAUH dari diri kita di dunia ini? 

Santri ada yang menjawab: ”Negara Cina, Bulan, Matahari.”

Jawab Ustadz: Yang paling benar adalah “Masa lalu”. Siapapun kita, bagaimanapun kita dan betapa kayanya kita, tetap kita TIDAK bisa kembali ke masa lalu.  Sebab itu kita harus menjaga hari ini dan hari-hari yang akan datang.

Pertanyaan 3: APA YANG PALING BESAR di dunia ini?

Santrinya ada yang menjawab: “Gunung, Bumi, Matahari.”

Jawab Ustadz: Yang paling besar dari yang ada di dunia ini adalah “Napsu”, banyak manusia menjadi celaka karena menuruti hawa napsunya.  Segala cara dihalalkan demi mewujudkan impian Napsu duniawi karena itu kita harus hati-hati dengan hawa napsu tersebut.

Pertanyaan 4: APA YANG PALING BERAT di dunia ini?

Diantara santrinya ada yang menjawab:  “Baja, Besi, Gajah.”

Jawab Ustadz : Yang paling berat adalah “Berjanji”  Hal yang paling gampang diucapkan tapi sulit dilakukan.

Pertanyaan 5: APA YANG PALING RINGAN di dunia ini?

Ada yang menjawab : “Kapas, Angin, Debu, Daun.”

Jawab Ustadz : Yang paling ringan di dunia ini adalah “Meninggalkan Ibadah.”

Lalu pertanyaan 6: APAKAH YANG PALING TAJAM di dunia ini?

Santrinya menjawab dengan serentak: “Pedang…!!”.

Jawab Ustadz : Yang paling tajam adalah “lidah manusia”  karena melaui lidah, manusia dengan mudahnya memfitnah orang,  menyakiti hati, melukai perasaan orang, dll.

Dan terakhir pertanyaan bonus dari Ustadz tersebut: APAKAH YANG PALING GAMPANG di dunia ini?

Mereka menjawab asal:  “Makan, Tidur, Nongkrong, dll.”

Jawab UStadz : “Broadcast pesan ini” cuma tinggal copy paste terus send all ke semua teman/saudara.  Maka akan jadi ilmu yang bermanfaat.

Belajar dari Merpati

1. Merpati adalah burung yang tidak pernah mendua hati. Coba perhatikan, apakah ada merpati yang suka berganti pasangan? Jawabannya adalah "tidak"! Pasangannya cukup 1 seumur hidupnya.
2. Merpati adalah burung yang tahu kemana dia harus pulang. Betapapun merpati terbang jauh, dia tidak pernah tersesat untuk pulang. Pernahkah ada merpati yang pulang ke rumah lain? Jawabannya adalah "tidak"! 
3. Merpati adalah burung yang romantis. Coba perhatikan ketika sang jantan bertalu-talu memberikan pujian, sementara sang betina tertunduk malu. Pernahkah kita melihat mereka saling mencaci? Jawabannya adalah "tidak"! 
4. Burung merpati tahu bagaimana pentingnya bekerja sama. Coba perhatikan ketika mereka bekerja sama membuat sarang. Sang jantan dan betina saling silih berganti membawa ranting untuk sarang anak-anak mereka. Apabila sang betina mengerami, sang jantan berjaga di luar kandang. Dan apabila sang betina kelelahan, sang jantan gantian mengerami. Pernahkah kita melihat mereka saling melempar pekerjaannya? Jawabannya adalah "tidak"! 
5. Merpati adalah burung yang tidak mempunyai empedu, ia tidak menyimpan "kepahitan" sehingga tidak menyimpan dendam.

"Jika seekor burung merpati bisa melakukan hal-hal di atas, mengapa manusia tidak bisa? Hidup itu indah jika kita saling mengerti, berbagi, dan menghargai!"

Ten Reasons To Never Give Up

1. As long as you are alive, anything is possible.

The only valid excuse you have to give up is if you are dead. As long as you are alive (and healthy and free) you have the choice to keep trying until you finally succeed.

2. Be realistic.

The chance of mastering something the first time you do it is almost non-existent. Everything takes time to learn and you will make mistakes. Learn from them.

3. You are strong.

You are stronger than you think. One little setback is not enough to stop you from achieving your goals. Neither are 10 or 100 or 1000 setbacks.

4. Prove yourself.

You don’t want to be known as someone that is weak and gives up. Go out there and prove yourself to the world and to yourself. You CAN and WILL achieve what you set out to do. The only time you fail is when you give up.

5. Believe in your dreams.

Don’t sell yourself short. In life there are going to be many people who will try to bring you down and tell you what you want to achieve is not possible.

6. Your family and friends.

Let the people you love and who mean the world to you be your inspiration to persist and persevere. Maybe you need to try a different angle, study more or practice more but don’t give up!

7. There are people worse-off.

Right now there are many people who are in a worse situation and environment than you are. Are you thinking about giving up running 5 miles a week? Think about the people who are unable to even walk and how much they would give to be able to run 5 miles every day.

8. You deserve to be happy.

Don’t ever let anybody tell you otherwise. You deserve to be happy and you deserve to have success. Keep that mindset and never give up until you reach your destination!

9. Inspire others.

Be an inspiration to others by refusing to give up. Who knows what someone else can achieve because you never gave up and in turn inspired them not to give up.

10. You are so close.

Often when you feel like you want to give up you are so close to making a huge breakthrough. You are just a heartbeat away from success.

Life and A Cup Of Coffee

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: “If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups have been taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.”

Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups. And then you began eyeing each other's cups.

Now consider this: Life is the coffee. The jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of life we live.

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee. Savor the coffee, not the cups! Don’t let the cups drive you … enjoy the coffee instead.

The happiest people don’t have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything. Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.

Setiap Kemenangan Butuh Kesabaran

Di suatu sore, seorang anak datang kepada ayahnya yg sedang baca koran… “Ayah, ayah” kata sang anak…

 “Ada apa?” tanya sang ayah…..

“Aku capek, sangat capek … aku capek karena aku belajar mati matian untuk mendapat nilai bagus sedang temanku bisa dapat nilai bagus dengan menyontek…aku mau menyontek saja! aku capek. sangat capek…

 aku capek karena aku harus terus membantu ibu membersihkan rumah, sedang temanku punya pembantu, aku ingin kita punya pembantu saja! … aku capek, sangat capek …

aku cape karena aku harus menabung, sedang temanku bisa terus jajan tanpa harus menabung…aku ingin jajan terus! …

aku capek, sangat capek karena aku harus menjaga lisanku untuk tidak menyakiti, sedang temanku enak saja berbicara sampai aku sakit hati…

 aku capek, sangat capek karena aku harus menjaga sikapku untuk menghormati teman teman ku, sedang teman temanku seenaknya saja bersikap kepada ku…

 aku capek ayah, aku capek menahan diri…aku ingin seperti mereka…mereka terlihat senang, aku ingin bersikap seperti mereka ayah ! ..” sang anak mulai menangis…

Kemudian sang ayah hanya tersenyum dan mengelus kepala anaknya sambil berkat, “Anakku ayo ikut ayah, ayah akan menunjukkan sesuatu kepadamu”, lalu sang ayah menarik tangan sang anak kemudian mereka menyusuri sebuah jalan yang sangat jelek, banyak duri, serangga, lumpur, dan ilalang… lalu sang anak pun mulai mengeluh, “Ayah mau kemana kita?? Aku tidak suka jalan ini, lihat sepatuku jadi kotor, kakiku luka karena tertusuk duri. Badanku dikelilingi oleh serangga, berjalanpun susah krn ada banyak ilalang… Aku benci jalan ini ayah” … sang ayah hanya diam.

Sampai akhirnya mereka sampai pada sebuah telaga yang sangat indah, airnya sangat segar, ada banyak kupu kupu, bunga bunga yang cantik, dan pepohonan yang rindang…

“Wwaaaah… tempat apa ini ayah? aku suka! aku suka tempat ini!” sang ayah hanya diam dan kemudian duduk di bawah pohon yang rindang beralaskan rerumputan hijau.

“Kemarilah anakku, ayo duduk di samping ayah” ujar sang ayah, lalu sang anak pun ikut duduk di samping ayahnya.

Anakku, tahukah kau mengapa di sini begitu sepi? padahal tempat ini begitu indah…?”
“Tidak tahu ayah, memangnya kenapa?”

“Itu karena orang orang tidak mau menyusuri jalan yang jelek tadi, padahal mereka tau ada telaga di sini, tetapi mereka tidak bisa bersabar dalam menyusuri jalan itu.”

“Ooh… berarti kita orang yang sabar ya yah? Alhamdulillah.”

“Nah, akhirnya kau mengerti.”

“Mengerti apa? Aku tidak mengerti.”

“Anakku, butuh kesabaran dalam belajar, butuh kesabaran dalam bersikap baik, butuh kesabaran dalam kujujuran, butuh kesabaran dalam setiap kebaikan agar kita mendapat kemenangan, seperti jalan yang tadi… bukankah kau harus sabar saat ada duri melukai kakimu, kau harus sabar saat lumpur mengotori sepatumu, kau harus sabar melawati ilalang dan kau pun harus sabar saat dikelilingi serangga… dan akhirnya semuanya terbayar kan? ada telaga yang sangatt indah.. seandainya kau tidak sabar, apa yang kau dapat? kau tidak akan mendapat apa apa anakku, oleh karena itu bersabarlah anakku”

“Tapi ayah, tidak mudah untuk bersabar. ”

“Aku tau, oleh karena itu ada ayah yang menggenggam tanganmu agar kau tetap kuat … begitu pula hidup, ada ayah dan ibu yang akan terus berada di sampingmu agar saat kau jatuh, kami bisa mengangkatmu, tapi… ingatlah anakku… ayah dan ibu tidak selamanya bisa mengangkatmu saat kau jatuh, suatu saat nanti, kau harus bisa berdiri sendiri… maka jangan pernah kau gantungkan hidupmu pada orang lain, jadilah dirimu sendiri… seorang pemuda muslim yang kuat, yang tetap tabah dan istiqomah karena ia tahu ada Allah di sampingnya… maka kau akan dapati dirimu tetap berjalan menyusuri kehidupan saat yang lain memutuskan untuk berhenti dan pulang… maka kau tau akhirnya kan?”

“Ya ayah, aku tau.. aku akan dapat surga yang indah yang lebih indah dari telaga ini … sekarang aku mengerti … terima kasih ayah , aku akan tegar saat yang lain terlempar ”

Sang ayah hanya tersenyum sambil menatap wajah anak kesayangannya.

Makna sebuah titipan

Puisi Makna Sebuah Titipan buah karya WS Rendra

Sering kali aku berkata,

ketika orang memuji milikku,

bahwa sesungguhnya ini hanya titipan,

bahwa mobilku hanya titipan Nya,

bahwa rumahku hanya titipan Nya,

bahwa hartaku hanya titipan Nya,

bahwa putraku hanya titipan Nya,

tetapi, mengapa aku tak pernah bertanya, mengapa Dia menitipkan padaku?

Untuk apa Dia menitipkan ini pada ku?

Dan kalau bukan milikku, apa yang harus kulakukan untuk milik Nya ini?

Adakah aku memiliki hak atas sesuatu yang bukan milikku?

Mengapa hatiku justru terasa berat, ketika titipan itu diminta kembali oleh-Nya ?

Ketika diminta kembali, kusebut itu sebagai musibah

kusebut itu sebagai ujian, kusebut itu sebagai petaka,

kusebut dengan panggilan apa saja untuk melukiskan bahwa itu adalah derita.

Ketika aku berdoa, kuminta titipan yang cocok dengan hawa nafsuku,

aku ingin lebih banyak harta,

ingin lebih banyak mobil,

lebih banyak rumah,

lebih banyak popularitas,

dan kutolak sakit, kutolak kemiskinan,

Seolah semua "derita" adalah hukuman bagiku.

Seolah keadilan dan kasih Nya harus berjalan seperti matematika :

aku rajin beribadah, maka selayaknyalah derita menjauh dariku, dan

Nikmat dunia kerap menghampiriku.

Kuperlakukan Dia seolah mitra dagang, dan bukan Kekasih.

Kuminta Dia membalas "perlakuan baikku", dan menolak keputusanNya yang tak sesuai keinginanku,

Gusti, padahal tiap hari kuucapkan, hidup dan matiku hanyalah untuk beribadah...

Heaven On Earth

Tak terhitung sudah berapa kali ini terjadi …

Jatuh dan membuatku merasa kecil di dunia ini. Kecewa dan membuatku berhenti untuk percaya orang lain. Dikhianati dan membuatku pesimis terhadap cinta. Seperti burung kecil yang baru terbang, dunia menyuruhku untuk belajar semua hal dalam waktu singkat. Aku dipaksa untuk menentukan segala-segalanya seorang sendiri. Tiba-tiba saja, hidup dewasa tidak semenyenangkan di pikiranku selama ini.

Tapi kau selalu siap berdiri di belakangku...

Kau tetap menyemangati dan berkata semuanya akan baik-baik saja. Tak putus-putusnya yakin aku bisa mencapai apa pun yang kuinginkan di saat yang lainnya benar-benar meragukanku. Kau membuatku merasa berharga.

Jujur saja, aku lelah berjuang terus. Tapi demi dirimu aku belum akan menyerah dulu. Mungkin aku harus berusaha lebih keras. Mungkin aku harus mencoba sekali lagi - entahlah. Aku tidak akan mengeluh...

Kau membuatku sadar... ternyata sejak awal, aku tak pernah dibiarkan sendirian.

The 100 Days Game Love Story

Message: Peter and Tina are sitting in the park doing nothing, but just gazing into the sky, while all their friends are having fun with their beloved half.

Tina: I’m so bored. Just wish I have a boyfriend now to spend time with.

Peter: I guess we’re the only leftovers. We’re the only person who isn’t with a date now.  (Both sigh in silence for a while.)

Tina: I think I have a good idea. Lets play a game.

Peter: Eh? What game?

Tina: Eem..It’s quite simple. You be my boyfriend for 100 days and I’ll be your girlfriend for 100 days. what do you think?

Peter: Oookay…Anyway I don’t have any plans for the next few months.

Tina: You sound like you aren’t looking forward to it at all. Cheer up. Today will be our first day and our first date. Where should we go?

Peter: What about a movie? I heard that there is a really great movie in theater now.

Tina: Seems like I don’t have any better idea than this. Lets move. (Went to watch their movies and sent each other home.)

Day 2: Peter and Tina went to a concert together, and Peter bought Tina a key chain with a star.

Day 3: They went shopping together for a friend’s birthday present. Share an ice-cream together and hugged each other for the first time.

Day 7: Peter drove Tina up onto a mountain and they watch the sunset together. When the night came and the moon glowed, they said sat on the grass gazing at the stars together.  A meteor passed by. Tina mumbled something.

Day 25: Spend time at a theme park and got onto roller coasters, and ate hot dogs and cotton candy. Peter and Tina got in the haunted house and Tina grabbed someone’s hand instead of Peter’s hand by accident. They laughed together for a while.

Day 67: They drove pass a circus and decided to get in to watch the show. The midget asked Tina to play a part as his assistant in the magic show. Went around to see other entertainments around after the show. Came to a fortune teller and she just said,  “Treasure every moment from now on” and a tear rolled down the fortune teller’s cheek.

Day 84: Tina suggested that they go to the beach. The beach wasn’t so crowded that day. They have their first kiss with each other just as the sun is setting.

Day 99: They decided to have a simple day and is deciding to have a walk around the city. They sits down onto a bench.

1:23 pm - Tina: I’m thirsty. Lets rest for a while first.

Peter: Wait here while I go buy some drinks. What would you like?

Tina: Eem…Apple juice will be just fine.

1:43 pm:  Tina waiting for about 20 minutes and Peter haven’t return. Then someone walked up to her.

Stranger: Is your name Tina?

Tina: Yes, and may I help you?

Stranger: Just now down there on the street a drunk driver has crashed into a guy. I think its your friend.  Tina ran over to the spot with the stranger and sees Peter lying on the floor with blood over his face and her apple juice still in his hands. The ambulance came and she went to the hospital with Peter. Tina sat outside the emergency room for five and a half hours. The doctor came out, and he sigh.

11:51 pm – Doctor: I’m sorry, but we did the best we could. He is still breathing now but God would take him away from us very soon. We found this letter inside his pocket.

The doctor hands over the letter to Tina and she goes into the room to see Peter. He look weak but peaceful. Tina read the letter and then she burst into tears.  Here is what the letter said.

“Tina, Our 100 days is almost over. I had fun with you during all these days. Although you may be greedy sometimes and less thoughtful, but these all brought happiness into my life. I have realize that you are a really cute girl and blamed myself for never taken the time to knowing that. I have nothing much to ask for, but I just wish that we can extend the day. I want to be your boyfriend forever and wish that you can be beside me all the time. Tina, I love you.”

11:58 - Tina: (Sobbing) Peter. Did you know what was the wish I made on the night there was a meteor?I asked God to let us last forever. We were suppose to last 100 days so Peter! You can’t leave me! I love you, but can you come back to me now? I love you Peter. I love you.

As the clock struck twelve, Peter’s heart stopped beating.  It was 100 days exactly.

Note: Tell the guy or girl or your loved ones,  that you love them before it’s too late. You never know whats going to happen tomorrow. You never know .

Prayer is an open line to God..
no network problem..
no low battery..
no connection error..
no charging..
always good signals and all messages sent.

We can see that..
